Worth trying to buy half off ? Might make. Good for bass dispersion ? Asking for stuff free neve rworks someone suggested that on here .Canton should be pretty much ground zero for those. If they are new to you I suspect you may be newer to the hobby (or at least less obsessed than many of us).
I know how to reform but might need a new guide Ben ages since I tried it . Last time I bought new woofers , kept the originals realized later they didn’t need refooam haha fixed em by reconnections of power wire to woofer .I'd pay $25 for them. Have you ever refoamed speakers? Are you into giving it a go? Not great for bass dispersion so much as a way to cram a three way into a tiny space. Sounds good in the right placement, a standing wave machine if placed poorly. Remember, deep bass is largely non-directional anyway but I have no idea what frequency those are crossed at.
I'm not saying ask for free, just saying that if they need foam that gives you a bargaining chip.
did you see my last post. ? Try $40? Or go with 50 or pass ?they got. Neat big woofer and could be good for music or surround .I'd say these are easily worth $50/pair in working condition.
Ahh so you would pass ? Not worth it then .I bought my last pair at Goodwill for 5.00, but had to replace the woofer surrounds, which is never fun, so I have 30.00 in them. Sound quality is mediocre at best.
Ahh so you would pass ? Not worth it then .
I’ll look out for some klipsch or something decent branded .
I think I’m just going to wait until I find a job , they looked interesting design wise and went low hertz . I don’t think they are worth it .I bought a pair for $20 some years back. Refoamed the woofers and had to replace a tweeter. I was in about $50 after all that, and I still think they were pretty good for the money. Ended up giving them to my son.
If you want to keep them, $50 is a good price (assuming they function as is). If you want to flip them, keep shopping.
Is your goal to buy all of the cheap speakers, or are you looking for something nice to listen to?

Only way to know is ask if the bottom woofers surrounds aren’t bad . They could make good basement speakers , but dont know if there better then my Rtr ev9 with goldwood heaven duty woofers possibly clearer bass ?I had heard these speakers back when they were in production and was impressed by the amount of clean bass such a small box could put out. I didn't do any serious listening but I remember being pleased with the overall sound. Other AK'ers and I have in the past recommended them for people looking for good sound in a small box. Doubtless there are better speakers out there, but when you considering what you're getting for your 50 bucks (assuming they're cosmetically and functionally good), I don't see how you could go wrong. I wouldn't call them worthless, but I also wouldn't buy them as an upgrade to what you already have. You have the overall right idea, save your cash for when a really good deal comes up.
And yes, finding a job isn't a bad idea...![]()
Basement speakers is exactly what you don't want them for. They are a tradeoff design to try to give some decent bass in a tiny space. Big ugly speakers with low WAF are what belong in the basement. Some Rectilinears or Mach Ones. Something kabuki.Only way to know is ask if the bottom woofers surrounds aren’t bad . My main system is probably far clearer it’s newer klipsch icon with pioneer Andrew Jones floor standers as side surrounds .
Why are bottom firing woofers so rare ?in Speakers, that’s why these looked neat .
It’s kind of like a Speakers on same level as what I’m using now ,in My basement .
