I enjoy some of this music, but I also find that much of it does not hold my interest.

Are you familar with Bill Laswell? Same vein, a bit more soulful.

I especially like Laswell's reworking of the Bob Marley Classics called ~Dreams Of Freedom: Ambient Translations Of Bob Marley In Dub

In a Silent Way was the kind of the start of my enjoyment of this type of music, Classic Miles Davis.

I enjoy Portishead. I can remember where I was driving the first time I heard Glory Box. Hard to believe that we used to have Radio that played good music.

Hard to find the line, but I'm a big fan of the noisier, jazzier instrumentals.

I like a lot of Madlib, some Flying Lotus and avant stuff like Spring Heel Jack, Exile.

You're not alone. :music:

Portishead are one of our local bands, and there are any number of trip-hop acts around here... quite a few of the bridge the space between downtempo and dubstep - if any of you guys like to make your bass-units move some air haven't tasted the delights of dubstep check out the latest Chase & Status album. :thmbsp:
