any needle suggestions for grado reference series 1

Hey there, I've recently picked up an old Sony PS-X5 turntable this past weekend from a local garage sale. While it needs some work on replacing its capacitors and electrical components, I would like to know more about the included cartridge. To my knowledge it is marked "Grado RS1" with a generic "G" on its face. I was told that it has been heavily used and may need it's stylus replaced.

Does anyone have information or possibly any idea what replacement needle I can use? While I have read a bit of user Multiplex's "Will a modern stylus fit your vintage Grado cartridge" post, I am still confused on what to make of it. All information as well as suggestions are appreciated!

No pic. So I’m guessing, but if it’s a wood body, call Grado. They can give you a price on a retip. If it’s an earlier replaceable stylus, the info you read will help. The TMZ and MCZ styli aren’t cheap but are excellent, and so is the 8MZ but they will only fit Grado’s lines of replaceable stylus carts. Again a call to them can be of help. My best shot. I have only older Grado carts. So don’t know much more about the woodies although I’d love to have one.

Order the cheapest Grado replacement stylus you can get. Then upgrade if you like the sound signature. Most people say the HF is rolled off. My experience is different. Grados responds well to cartridge loading. Something other than 47kohm
