Any other Moody Blues fanatics?

Every Good Boy Deserves Favor sticks in my mind. With two friends late one night while listening to it a commotion was going on outside my friends bedroom so we opened it and found paramedics running down the hallway. My friends mother had past,he was never the same.

My very first album, 8 track and cassette was Days of Future Passed. Bought the next 8 albums and stopped after that. Days is still my favorite album of all time. :music:

Long time fan, since Night in White Satin was played and I rushed out and bought the LP.

Still have it BTW!

Seen them a few times in the 70's and they were fantastic!

Still watch then on DVD at Red Rocks every now and then.

Been a long time fan of MB. Never had the chance to see them in concert, but had almost all their albums and cassettes.

Love the Moodies and have seen then live about 7 or 8 times over the years.

One of the few bands where the classic lineup is still alive. Wish they would bury some hatchets and do a grand reunion show. Invite Denny Laine too. One or two at the Royal Albert.

Have been a fan since 1972. The "This Is" album got played allot and is still one the best. Have seen them a half dozen times in the KC area. Best show was at KSU on April 1, 1990ish. House of Four Doors is my current drug. Named my son Justin. I have most of the albums they have put out both solo and collectively. Have to go put them on now.:thmbsp:

Rumor has it that Pinder and Thomas are negotiating with Justin, Lodge and Edge to do "something" next year. Whether that refers to a new album or a limited tour remains to be seen. Nice to dream about if you are really into their music. If a tour is being discussed, it begs the question; will Norda be there? She has done an amazing job of replacing Ray's flute work and is a wonderful and enthusiastic addition to the band.

I love almost all types of music but admittedly am a classic rock and blues fan. Still, the Moody Blues have been the soundtrack of my life since we toured with them in 1967. Still see them at least once a year in "scalper" seats, no more than three rows back dead center stage. My wife feels the same way.

They still sound great, but they have aged a bit. Then again, so have I!

Any other Moody Blues fanatics out there?

Definitely a fan of their work. The soundtrack of my misspent youth. :smoke:

You mentioned touring with them, which band?

This would be great! From Days of Future Past to Seventh Sojurn, and including Blue Jays, they were out of this world. Now where are my black lights, lava lamp & incense?

Our bands name was Obediah, out of Rochester Institute of Technology. We toured as the lead band through upstate New York (Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo, Albany) in 1968 and 1969 with the Moodies and a few other big groups of the time.

Our producer, lead singer and flautist was a graduate of Juilliard and we did some covers and some really neat original material. Unfortunately, in 1970 one of our members decided to mainline acid and never made it back from the trip for a year or so. We couldn't replace him and the band broke up.

Just listened to In Search Of the Lost Chord (MFSL).

Very sweet. My favorite? :scratch2:

To Our Children's Children's Children. Brilliant throughout. The classic 7 LP's are must-listens for everyone. :music:

Love the Moodies, I like to listen to all of their stuff mixed up via my iTunes collection (from LP) on a rainy day...

:thmbsp: I agreee, that would almost be a perfect scenario. Play 2 nights back to back, 15 to 20 different songs each night. That would sell a ton of videos.

Just loved the 2005 concert which I saw in Kansas City, nearly an identical performance to the 2005 concert video from the Greek Theater. Brings back a lot of nice memories of the Mrs. when I watch the video. She loved them also. That was a great show, the highlight being "Are You Sitting Comfortably". You could hear a pin drop while Justin was doing his "Thing"

Also a longtime fan, but like their early (up thru Octave or so time frame... ) stuff best.

Had never seen a concert of theirs live until my wife surprised me with tickets for their concert in Sarasota a few years ago. I had tears in my eyes... was good.

I was kind of a fan until the mid 70s. Then my roommate at the time, who was a huge fan, spoiled them for me. He played them endlessly to the point I just got sick of them. I haven't listened to them in many years. Maybe I'll give them a listen again.

I've always liked them, I've never really understood why they're so overlooked. Too intelligent for the typical psychedelic / stoner crowd and not hard enough for the rockers perhaps?

I recall that Ray retired due to gout and age, so I doubt they would do a tour. That would mean Norda's job is safe. A couple of 'one-off' shows, perhaps on both sides of the Atlantic.

Pinder is really the wild card. Is all forgiven between he and Edge?
