Any proven solvent to remove this silicone?

A very sharp (new) utility knife will remove that silicone fast and efficiently. This white stuff is usually all over subwoofer amps and I have had good luck with just mechanical removal. Don't worry about making it perfect, just pull/cut the components out (after desoldering), and then scrape as much as you can easily do off the board.

Having owned a couple of sailboats over the past 25 years, I can say there is no solvent that removes silicone. Silicone is frowned upon on fiberglass because it seeps into the gelcoat and nothing will stick to the area afterwards. People usually sand it off into the gelcoat. There may be something that loosens or weakens it that wouldn’t be prudent on a plastic boat, but I would think you wouldn’t want something too caustic on a circuit board either. You’re not trying to make a waterproof seal either so complete removal isn’t necessary. Seems like the xacto might be the most practical way to go.
