Any radical mods for aluminum Minimus 7 cabinets?

I have a set of these that are total crud - surrounds are hard as rocks. Maybe one tweeter salvageable.

I've seen the fixup kits, replacement woofers, crossover mods and the kits on ebay. Those all seem to keep the speaker more or less the same.

Just wondering if anyone has used the cabinets in a totally different way?

Like - how about a nice 4 inch full range speaker with a port?

Or a full range speaker and ribbon tweeter?

Or two ribbon tweeters?

Stuff like that.

(Just wondering how deep I should store these in the attic!!!):scratch2:

These are pretty cheap and they made zillions of them. Buy a bunch and experiment. Let us know what you did and the results.

I like mine stock with a sub. Quite nice.
 
I've replaced the 4.7 uf capacitor on my active pair, but I guess that's not a mod. It sure improved the sound, though.
 
Buy two pairs, mate two of them into one to make a pair of WTW speakers out of them and augment the bass with a sub.
 
My 2 pairs were/are test mules when I power up old amps so they get blown up instead of something good.
