Any recommendations for record-collection app?

Seeking an iOS record-collection app for album/CD cataloging, something that I can access on my iPhone when record-shopping.

Anyone have any experience with MilkCrate, Crate Digger, The Vinyl District, Record Collection, or any other similar database apps?

Thanks in advance for the recommendations...

No clue, so I can't help you. I'm just amazed at how there's a freeeking 'app' for everything. Sure would be handy.

I use CLZ Music Collector. Not free, but I like it. Synchs with my IPhone and my Nexus seven and haven't brought home an unintended duplicate since I got everything in it.

LPs need to loaded manually, but for CDs, I could just pop the CD into the computer and the software created an entry in the database automatically.

Well if your phone has internet you can use Discogs just sign up and you have a spot for your collection. As you look up records you buy once you found the right copy you just add to the collection. You can easily grade, add comments or what have you.

Can't believe I wasn't aware of Discogs...great site, exactly what I was looking for.

Best of all, it integrates seamlessly with the mobile app MilkCrate ($2.99 in the app store).

Together, Discogs and MilkCrate make a great cataloging combo!

I haven't put to many records in my discog colection but as I look up the copy and matrix I just add them now. It's great because the info already there for the diferent copies, then you grade it.

+1 - thats what I do. Discogs on my phone actually works pretty slick - no app just the website. But easy to access and check what's in my collection before I purchase. Create a custom column for my record/jacket grade so I know if I need to up-grade my copy or not.

Discogs is the bomb. I use it for overall LP collection tracking, and for looking up info before buying a particular pressing. In a store I use the Discogs website via my phone.
