Any repairman recommendations near California for Fisher 500c?

I want to repair my Fisher 500c.
I made a thread on seeing if I could diagnose the problem, but it looks like I will need to send it to someone professionally to get it to work.

I paid close to a grand for a "restored"unit & when it arrived, it had a loud distortion with the bass. I'm using it primarily as a headphone amplifier.
I used several different RCA cables through the AUX inputs to use it. I also bought 4 new Electro Harmonix 7591A tubes as I thought the power tubes might be at fault, but that didn't help.

The wooden case for the 500C was damaged when it arrived, so maybe the receiver might have been damaged in shipping (seller claims it worked perfect). I tried making a claim for the insurance, but I don't think I will get a dime for them. So I'm hoping I can pay to just fix whatever problem it is & not pay to have the entire receiver rebuilt & essentially pay double of what the receiver is worth.

I hear Dave Gillespie is a great Fisher receiver repairman, but he is in Gerogia & the shipping will probably cost double to what it would cost to ship it locally & I'm trying to save whatever I can.

So any recommendations for people here who have experience in repairing Fisher 500c receivers that are also located near the west coast?

I dealt with many techs--from guitar amp guys to old timers to high-end "boutique" repair shops--while trying to get my Fisher stuff repaired properly in Southern California, and without slandering anyone, I have never found a shop that didn't require my gear to go back two and three times to get the particular problem rectified. The 8 or so techs I've dealt with in California ran the gamut from average yet dispassionate, get-it-done-and-get-to-the-next-one service to abject incompetence.

My humble advice is that you open a free FedEx account and send your 500c to Dave Gillespie. The additional $70 or whatever it will be to ship your receiver cross-country and back is negligible when you will have peace of mind that your Fisher has been expertly repaired with no corners cut and will serve you for many years to come.

*** The one exception is Mr C.W. Rowe in El Monte, but unless you happen to catch him on a good day, he only works on jukeboxes. He's nearly 90 years old and he has been in the trade since 1952! ***

Oh yeah, I'm not taking it to any of the local repair shops. Maybe a broke VCR, but not a $1,000 24+ tube 60 year old receiver.

I was hoping to ship it to a Audiokarma user near the west coast who is recommended here.
If not I'll try to PM Dave.
