Any Resources for Ceiling Speakers?

I want to expand my audio to a recently renovated kitchen and sun room. In these rooms the only practical place for speakers is the ceiling, but I also want the best sound possible. I often research my options through reviews and buying guides like AK or Stereophile Mag before making an audio decision, but I can't find any such resources for high end ceiling speakers.

I don't understand this, there's lots of good info out there for $200 bookshelves, why not something for similar sized speakers that are integral to a quality sound system and are far from cheap? Am I just not looking in the right place, or is this segment just throwing a dart at a respected name like Dynaudio, KEF, B&W, etc. and hoping for the best?

My brother in law ended up buying some used martin Logan in wall speakers used as front speakers in a home theater, apparently his boss wanted a bigger tv and speakers,so I helped him install them in the ceiling and he loves it ,even his bread taste better now.
It really sounds great with his tube Fisher 500 ,so look for inwall speakers as well as they have similar mounting criteria and maybe more depth, now he wants to add some ceiling subwoofers as they spend a lot of time in the kitchen dining area.

Yes, wall speakers can be great. I installed some Speakercraft's in a vacation house years ago that sound great. Unfortunately the ceiling is the best option for these rooms, and for the sun room really the only option. Interestingly, I haven't seen any more resources for wall speakers, either comparisons are too hard to do, or anything that doesn't come in it's own enclosure isn't considered worthy of audiophile attention?

you assume wrong. They ae NOT grey goods and their refurbs are factory refurbs with factory warranties. I've purchased from them many times, most recently a Marantz SR-5011 in 2017 and several times before that.

Definitive Technology in walls are excellent
Dynaudio are also excellent probably overkill.
KEF are also very good.
Episode or Klipsch for budget options.

Yes, I've heard DT mentioned a lot, will definitely check them out, thanks! Surprised about Klipsch, would have thought them higher based on their overall rep. I have Dynaudio on my list because I'm so impressed with the bookshelf speakers I have. They wouldn't be overkill if they can truly provide audiophile quality, or close to it. Most ceiling speakers are theater oriented, pale in comparison to satellites and even wall speakers, and usually lack the bass for music. B&W and Martin Logan are other folks with great reps for traditional speakers, will need to figure out how they stack up too

I've also heard good things about Triad, but their website is a cluster-f, impossible to navigate for any useful info. I also think you need to go through a local dealer to buy a couple speakers instead of the internet, but who knows, their website choked with fancy fade in/fade out promotions for their entire product line was again useless - I guess I'll just have to spend my money with someone else :dunno:
