Any suggestions for NON-digital tracking force gauges?

My second digital scale has bitten the dust after only being used about three times.:mad: No more Chinese digital crap for me.

What are my options for manual gram scales?

I see Shure has one, but it only goes up to 3 grams. Ortofon has one, but it only goes up to 4 grams. I sometimes need to measure the TF on old record grinders that go well beyond that.

Any ideas?

If I only knew where mine is hiding, or even if I brought it down here to land-o-gator and snakes.
 
I was just looking on ebay.

It looks like I might need two scales. An older one that has higher readings, and one like the Shure or Ortofon that is more accurate/precise at lower pressures.
 
My Chinese digital has dead batteries. I’ve used my old Shure the last couple times I needed one. I’ve had the Shure since the mid ‘80s and it’s foolproof.

I kept the battery out of both units when I wasn't using them. I even tried a new battery both times. They were just dead.
 
I just bought an Olson like this one on ebay for $0.99 + $5 shipping. The pic from ebay was crappy, but this one is the same model. Unless it is in the bag with the instructions and I didn't see it, the little ring at the top that you hold on to is missing. I can use an old key ring or something if it is. No big deal.

In addition to the one I bought, I think I have settled on the Shure SFG-2. I just put in an offer on one in the box, probably made in the '70s.
 
Used my trusty Shure for decades before finally getting a digital in the 20teens. Now I have two digitals. The newer one has a large weighing surface that I use to weigh headshells.

I hope they last longer than mine did.

As I said, I won't be buying a third one after the first two died after being stored in the original boxes and getting basically no use.
 
I have the Shure SFG-2 and it looks like it goes to only 3 grams, but there is a second position where you an rest the needle and that multiplies it by 2 going to 6 grams.
 
The SFG-2 maximum goes from 1.5 to 3 grams with the stylus in the inner groove, not from 3 to 6 grams.

Unless they have changed the SFG-2 since the nineteen seventies. :D
