Any thoughts on Simaudio Moon 100D DAC?

This is really attractive to me at its current closeout pricing. Does anyone have any listening impressions on this piece? I would be using it with a Yamaha CD changer that I bought new in the late 90's so I would imagine this would be quite a step up from the internal DAC in that player.

More importantly, is there anything else around this price point (say $300 to $350) that would be a better choice? I was looking at the Maverick D2 (with GE tube and op amp upgrade), the Micromega MyDAC, the Schiit Bifrost, etc. It would seem that the Simaudio would be a better buy than these other competitors, but we all know that cost isn't always an indicator of quality.

I have one of these and paid $600 for it new when it first came out. It was worth every dime thenand for the price you can get it for it is a steal.

That's a great price -- I'm in the market for a DAC, but I am waiting for the prices to drop on DACs that can also do native DSD files, and a quick read of their website says that the Simaudio Moon 100D DAC does not. I know that Schiit makes one that is reasonably priced -- I just want more choices.

I've been using a 100D for about 7 months. It's a very good neutral DAC that doesn't hide any details. I've placed a M2Tech Hiface 2 upstream (via coaxial) which made the presentation more 3D. For the price, you could certainly do much worse.
