Any Wharfedale Experts In Da House?

W90s and W70s are keepers and not that expensive. My W70s are easily the equal to my Bozak 302a system. The SuperTweeter 3 may not go to light speed frequencies but it covers the usable average persons' listening range beautifully. The W90 has more bass punch than the W70.

The later W series with the purple or pink fried egg tweeter are more fragile because the tweeter cone can separate due to the glue used.
 
I picked up a pair of Denton III's last week at thrift store. I have to do some more testing but atm it seems like it takes about half a minute for one speaker to get to its full volume so I suspect there are some problems with at least one of them
The highs are still very, very pleasant, detailed and warm. Everything below that though sounds like a cardboard box and all imaging of the instruments seems to be almost gone. I'm very new to vintage audio but I can't believe they are supposed to sound this way. I found a quite recent article in a dutch audiophile magazine which in short says if you want to buy this kind of soundquality today you'll have to cough up between 1200-1600 euros
Since they are almost 40 years old can this 'bad' sound be caused by degraded caps? I havent done a recap before but this might be a good first one, if i can only get the crossovers out :)
