Anybody else with a Ken Ealey Audio?

Hey AK...

Just wanted to share my Ken Ealey Audio modded Acurus L10, running dead-stable ever since I send the unit to Ken for a makeover in march 2013.
The midrange is in another level, and still to this day I find it very hard to beat with other pre's, no matter the pricetag...

-Anybody else that still enjoys this gem of a preamp?

The Ken-version is the upper unit shown on the picture

Best regards

Did the one update that Ken didn't do. Enhance the xformer and e.caps.
The xformer is now 10VA over 5VA stock, and the e.caps went from 3.3mf to 105°C Kemet 10mf plus new 2A ultrafast soft recovery diodes in the bridge.
I know Ken with his K.I.S.S-build (a good thing) doesn't agree with this upgrade as an enhancement in performance, and to be honest it's not like day and night, but the deeper frequencys does enjoy this mod and a bit wider soundstage.

Ok... Listened to this for almost a week now, and finally got the chance to upp the volume (wife is not home), and the sound becomes thin and dull after 9-10 o'clock on the preamp.
It came to my mind that even the xformer in the PSU acts like R, and with 10mf the cutoff may be way to drastic, or so I hope.
When I measure ohms in the new xformer compared with the old, 4.7mf should be more suitable over 10mf

Best regards
