Anybody Know Anything About Cleaning Slide Controls?

I have an old JVC 5521 receiver with a 5 band SEA equalizer laying around, and i would like to clean the slide controls on the equalizer. Do i just spray Deoxit on the controls, and move them back, and forth to clean them? I can clean circular controls, but i have bad luck cleaning sliders.

There's an extra step for those faders. That's what Faderlube is for. Also made by Caig. Always good to have a can of each around for the vintage stuff. Follow up the deoxit with the Faderlube.
Be advised there are many who say not to use deoxit at all on faders; just the Faderlube. Do a google search of AK for "slide controls".
