Anybody recognize this woofer in M&K prototype

Anybody recognize this woofer in M&K prototype? It was purchased at the M&K bankrupt sale as is.

Where did you get that? I saw that for sale somewhere and can't remember where. Odds are it's a totally custom woofer, so nobody is going to be able to identify it.

I believe that they were attempting to build a woofer that provided truly low bass to compete with Sunfire and other other companies. Notice the much larger surround foam area on the woofer. M&K subs have a great reputation but they do not go as low as some of the high pressure enclosure subs like Sunfire. At last test using the Chesky "how low can you go" tracks, the M&K cut out at 30 hz and the Sunfire was going strong at 16 hz. Blending the two has been very rewarding!

I saw those pics on ebay the seller seemed to have a few m&k prototype sub woofers and enclosures for sale at the same time. Can't help with the woofer id though.

Yeah, the pics are from ebay. A guy was selling them there. Not interested in buying it, just trying to figure out what type of woofer they were attempting to use.

Which Sunfire goes down to 16 HZ?

Which one of the Sunfire subs goes down to 16 HZ? The HRS-12 ?

I have an M&K VX-1250 that I am very happy with. It goes LOW. Blew the woofer. Got a new one coming. They are super hard to find, so I thought I would be on the lookout for something else in case this baby blows up. Made in China. Not like the old made in the USA or Canada stuff.

The M&K VX-1250 says it will go down to 20 HZ and I believe them. Have it hooked thru a Wright WPL-20 pre amp.
