Anybody remember Millie Small?

Apparently not . Like a number of other child stars, she was used by the industry and never saw any of the enormous fortune her talents earned .
Yes, like any number of them... and by used, that could mean anything, most of it bad. She'd be lucky, a good life, if all they took from her was money. She sure looks like a sweet little 'thing' in the video with the song, so young... it's hard to 'act' that innocent and sweet without being the part.

it was true with all teenage singers... most never got a dime ... remember "last Kiss" by J frank Wilson? ... he lived in my hometown, and J Frank Wilson was a pseudonym...it was not his real name .... he drove a truck for most of his life , he got zip on that hit....
That one was played to death way back then. I was surprised when Pearl Jam covered it, sort if unlike them, but they did a great job with it.

It's a shame what management greed did to all of those teenage stars.

She was pretty out there if I remember correctly. Fun fact, jack Bruce played bass on my boy lollipop
Not finding a reference for that, though it makes sense in that the era is right, Millie Small was in England, and obviously they used very solid musicians on the recording. Legend also has it that Rod Stewart played the harmonica on that tune. He's denied that, but Millie insisted that it was him. Fascinating stuff.
