I know it is not the best info in the world and because of reasons beyond my control it may be the best I get. I do know the guy who has these and he is solid. I have bought several pieces from him before and cosmetics have never been an issue. He is off the charts busy and always gives me limited information. I did get text pics of gear but were not close up enough to identify all model numbers. I normally do not buy things to resale but there is so much here I probably would sell some locally. Anyone care to give me a number to offer? I was thinking in the $2,000 range? %That would get me in at around $200 per unit. I need to allow some for worst case tech repairs and still be right side up?

Dunno values of most of that, but there aren't too many used AV receivers I'd value at $200 unless they were very new models or one of the TOTL monster AVRs.

I left the Sansui BA 3000....working off the list...sorry. My guess is a working BA 3000 and AU 2000 wold bring over $2,000 so i think we are talking apples and oranges here. Some have argued that some of these pieces are some of the best/iconic of all time.

I think you are missing a zero and you mean a Sansui AU-20000. If you knew more details, the $2,000 is probably not too bad, but without more information, I would say between $1,000 and $1,500. In that range, you can get the AU20k fixed and part out the other non-working units to get back your investment.

If you're strictly looking to flip it, I would offer a grand no more and no less. I would tell him that your offer stands and make good on it should he later decide to accept it. You have to assume the worst in that you may have to sell them all for parts or be required to invest a sizable amount in repairs depending on which nets you more profit. Obviously if you plan on keeping some of it then you can determine your own value above my 1k.

At $2K, it is a crapshoot at best, unless you have a spare additional $2K to get everything working and then you would be "golden" on the deal. It is pretty much a matter of DIY (costs less $$$, but still time invested), or paying a tech to repair/go over each piece (that gets expen$$$ive real fast). I'll buy stuff that is not working, or has "issues" if I feel that I can deal with them myself, but if it seems out of my scope of knowledge, then the number has to go way down, because I know what pro techs get for repairs--no knock on them--they have to eat too--but buying non-working gear is always a gamble, regardless of how good of a deal that it seems.
