Anyone familiar with AKAI Mini/Micro component systems?

There is one of these right now at the SA for $30 minus the tt and remote.Been there for about a week.Just don't really have the need for such right now.If I didn't have enough gear I would snag it.

Beemer, First, Red would cut a finger or two off with a power tool, while telling a story about falling out of the boat while fishing, and getting a trout stuck in his butt crack. The, he would take a belt grinder to the dustcover, to buff out the haze....

Superdog, is that the remote control box, or the remote control? They are pretty scarce, and would be a steal at that price, A beat up C50 preamp went for $** at that auction site (Price ommited so post doesn't get moved, or at least I hope this is sufficient to prevent this! If not, please edit/delete as you see fit!)

Beemer, I forgot to ask, did you want those Tascam Control Monitors, they would make great freebies for your garage system!

Funny.

I walked away from the C50 and P50 components the other day at the local thrift, but it was a tough decision! I carried them around for awhile, put them back, picked them up again, put them back. They seemed well constructed, and the amp was really heavy for it's size. I went home to do some research on them, and came up empty-handed as well. I should have asked here...

IIRC, the meters go to 100W, but the tag on the back lists power consumption as 100W so there's no way the ouput could be that high.

Now I wish I'd picked them up.

Live and learn. :dunno:

Redboy, thanks to Retrokeeper, I found out the specs for the amp is 50 WPC @20 -20,000 0.02% distortion

Bully, That is something I am going to do.

Inspiribomb, there is an interested party, Please PM me so the thread doesn't get me in trouble with the mods!

Inspiribomb, I just noticed you and Redboy are from the same place, Why not PM him and ask about the ones he saw at the thrift shop? They may still be there, you never know! It was only the amp & pre though...

Birddog I didn't see the handheld remote.I was kind of puzzled by all the components and didn't really check it out that well.I may regret not getting but I am trying to downsize. If it is there this weekend i may bite.

Redboy....What thrift?...AIWA from the 80's has held it's value and then some. I've got several personal cassette players, tape decks and boomboxes, everything is built like a tank and sounds great and worth a mint if I ever sold any of it. They also have a little obscure styling, but in a cool way...Just check out this TT, very cool unit...
