Hello folks,
I have bought a used (like new) Pro-ject Amp Box DS2 and when switched on it has not loud but noticeable pop sound. Is this normal?
The story why I have bought this power amp:
I have bought year ago a new Pro-ject Pre Box DS2 analogue that I have used with mono power amps that I have sold already and I have kept small pre-amp while I liked the size... I have thought that maybe it is a good idea for a second system that I pair the pre-amp with power amp from the same line. It looks esthetically pleasing and small size was perfect. Short story, one was coming up for sale shortly after (pure luck) and since it was barely used I pulled the trigger. After sale I went for a vacation and was able to connect it a month later. I noticed the pop right away and checked first all connections but all was okay. I disconnected the pre-amp and left only the speakers and power amp and the pop sound was there. Clearly the power amp... Right now I am wondering if the Pro-ject did not implement properly power up sequence or something is wrong the amp. Since some time passed I can/did not want to contact the seller and hoping that I will find some answers here.
BTW the amp sound really good and specifically when I have connected the Triangle BR03 speakers that I have, the synergy was perfect. This have me right know longing for Triangle Esprit EZ 40th anniversary speakers.
Anyway if anyone owns this amp please let me know if you have the same issue or this is isolated one...
Thanks!
