Anyone got a Nikon D900

Anybody got a Nikon D900? And if yes, how do you like it? 36mp is getting close to medium format (6x4.5) resolution. Or is it? Also, with or without anti-aliasing filter? My application would be landscapes, mostly, some involving night scenes with long exposures (camera on tripod). When I was last doing this I mostly shot medium format print film, but there's no way I want to do conventional wet dark room again.

yeah, he must mean the D800. The 800E doesn't have the anti-aliasing filter.

The native D800 image, at 300 DPI will print at 16.4 x 24.5". Reduce to 240 dpi, which is still pretty fine and would allow close up viewing, and you get a 20.5 x30.9" print. Viewing distance obviously comes into play but you should be able to go a great deal larger and have an excellent looking image. As good as Medium Format? Close enough to my thinking.

As to whether or not you "need" anti-aliasing filter, that depends on what you shoot. If 95% of what you do is Landscapes, then maybe you should get the 800E. I do a pretty wide mix of things so it wouldn't be right for me and IMO the small bump in sharpness isn't worth dealing the possibility of moire patterns. But again, that's me, not you.

Oh, and make sure you have Good Glass!
