Thanks, replying to your PM now. I restored my AF-4 years ago (2002!). It's been working great for a long time, then a few weeks ago suddenly started blowing fuses. I traced the problem to a short in the power transformer (I thought), asked Heyboer about rewinding it. But replacing it was a less-involved option, so they made a new power transformer for me. However, after I removed the original transformer and started tinkering with it, I now suspect it may be okay. The problem may have been some “unfortunate” socket lug soldering by the original owner, that finally revealed itself - or some other shorting taking place somewhere in the filament connections.
It may or may not be the transformer, I re-installed the original transformer and I’m still experimenting. I’ll post an update when I solve it. (And if the original power transformer is okay, I may be into using the new one for a new-construction stereo single-ended EL84 project!)
