Anyone Have or Collect Bootleg Albums?

[hjames]

back in the day there were lots of disc swap forums - Dead.net had a ton of Grateful dead stuff in the old days, of course. I also swapped around and got a ton of Van Morrison and Roxy Music - 'cause they really made me smile. But some boots are abysmal quality and some folks can't make a clean CD copy to save their life - after I while I hit overload, and just gave it all up.

I have a lot of punk bootleg LPs. my favorite being a New Bomb Turks LP from a dutch radio show. Awesome recording. I of course have the reproduction 45s of the Misfits "Bullet" and "Halloween" and a few Black Flag ones. I have a greenday LP Live in Italy from their Kerplunk tour. a few others, just cant remember atm.

Sold my one and only bootleg, The Beatles Sing Bob Dylan (they did Hendrix and Elvis on there also). It was sealed and I knew I'd never open it, so I sold it to a collector in B.C.. Bootlegs are cool, but the one's I've heard always sound like @$$, which is to be expected (sorry to be a Debbie Downer).

There are plenty of FM or Soundboard recordings going around - but not all bands have them!

Only have one thus far. A really poorly done picture interview disc. It has become wall art since transfering the content.

I've got a copy of Boston's We Found It In The Trashcan, Honest! on vinyl. I found it at a local record shop that until then. It was mixed in with the other Boston LP's. I picked it up for $15 the guy knew not what he had

The recording quality was crap, and I doubt I will be playing it regularly, but thats not why I bought it. Supposedly it was ripped from a copy of the tapes they sent to record companies to get signed. Listening to it was just weird; I'm used to the smooth, polished sound of Bostons debut album, listining to this was completely different. Even the lyrics and the riffs were different. I'm thinking of throwing this up on youtube tomorrow if you guys want to check it out.

Will update with pics later.
