Anyone heard Triangle speakers?

Congratulations on the new toys!

I have listened to the Triangle Celius a couple of times and liked them alot. Good sensitivity and perfect with tubes. I debated between Triangle and
JM Lab. Bought the JM Lab Cobalt 816s. Found a screaming deal on the JM Labs, demo model :thmbsp:.

I find the French speakers prefer tubes to SS. They are efficient and the metallic tweets on the JM's are great with tubes, probably a bit harsh with some SS.

Great find. Enjoy.

Well, here's what happened. I answered a Craigslist ad for a reel to reel. The guy also had a amp he didn't want.

I ended up with a TEAC X-2000R, three 180 minute reels and a Yamaha M-85 for less than it costs to put tires on my Yamaha FJR!! The components are in pristine condition.

The M-85 is an awesome amp. 30 WPC class A. 230 WPC class A/B.

The R2R probably had less than 100 hours on it. The belt looked new. The guy bought both items at the PX in Japan in 87. I posted pix in the tape forum.

At the same time I end up getting my heavily modified ST70 back from Kegger. I posted pix and talked about it in the DIY forum.

So rather than have a shoot out, I just moved the Triangles into the computer room along with the ST70, a Yamaha C-85 pre and a Yamaha CDX-1030 CD player. It does sound nice. Eventually I want to get a tube preamp.

The RTR's are happy in the main room and sound very nice coupled with the class A yammy.

In the end it probably isn't a matter of what sounds better. The systems sound different but I like them both. Even if one sounds "worse", I am not selling anything!
(that explains why I have six systems now)

And just because something may not sound just right to me, when friends come over their preferences may be different than mine. And that's great. Same reason I have albums I will probably never listen to. I have them all sorted on an excel database and give the list to visitors. They get to hear their favorite music even though I never listen to it myself.

I'm just trying to spread the enjoyment this hobby provides.
