mitsubishi dt-30.
just bought one for $20 . needs a main drive belt....complicated inside!

anyone ever take one apart? the transport is mounted on a cast frame,
and looks like it may come out as a unit, but i can't be sure.

what i do know, is that it's going to be hell trying to remove all that belt goop
from inside this thing.

here's a pic and description:

Hi, I have the DT-40S deck, which I rebuilt. It looks almost the same.

You have to take a lot apart to replace belts, just take your time and take pictures along the way , just in case you forget something as I did.

It is a great sounding deck.

Thanks,

wow!

thanks , john.

yes ,the transport looks identical. i'd better have an afternoon/evening to
tackle this one .

i'm pleased to see that the tranny comes out for disassembly , although
not a simple task...looks more logical than some .

thanks for the cool pictures , i'll be sure to document my own teardown....
that's an excellent idea :thmbsp:

i can't wait to get it running.....looks like a great machine

I actually have (2), one was for some parts I needed to make one complete working deck.

Did you get a belt kit yet?

Have fun,

nope, no belts yet. that goo's going to require soaking.

do you remember the circumfrence of the flat drive belt?.

i have approx-length , small round nitrile o- rings
for the counter and ff/rw belts , but not the flywheel /capstan flat belt.

I will have to look that up, I must have written it down or posted in a thread. Goo comes off with 91% Alcohol.
