Anyone know about vintage Sanyo receivers?

I've never heard any of they're older equipment before,most of what I've seen from Sanyo was plastic junk.
I've run across a vintage receiver that looks pretty cool and can be had pretty cheap........$45.
It must be a one owner,they said they've had it nearly 40 years.
It's a quad making 4X30w or 2X60w, model DCX 3300K
Anyone have any experience with these units?

I played around with a JCX-2600 Receiver for a while. Mid 70´s unit, I believe.

It seems this quad receiver is pretty rare,looks to be a 1972 model year from what little I can find on it.
I'm going into the city Friday for a dental appointment and meeting the owner afterward if he still has it by then,if it works as well as he says I'll bring it home.
It's 50 miles one way from here so it'll have to wait till I'm closer.
Should be interesting if I get it to see how it compares with my Marantz 2240 for $95 less money and with 20 more wpc.

Cannot help you on that unit but it definitely is a looker! Hopefully it is as pleasant to listen to as it looks $45 seems reasonable to me for it.At least i would consider it for that price.

I picked up this vintage Sanyo amp and tuner off an original owner. 45 WPC and sounds pretty good. I love the looks of it.

Sold those back in the day - don't remember any issues with them ? They were only made for maybe a year or 18 months - common run length for early four channel stuff ,

I have a Sanyo 2050 receiver. It's very heavy for a fifty watt receiver, very compact and easy on the eyes ( silver face w/ vu meters). Sounds pretty decent, but the phono section isn't all that great IMO. Mne would be in regular rotation if not for power switch issues. From the little that I've read here, silver faced Sanyo gear is underrated. Hope my 2 cents helps.

I picked up a vintage silver face sanyo amp from a garage sale once. Cleaned it up and turned it over for a nice profit, but I do recall it sounding pretty darn good; comparable to my SA series pioneer unit. It is odd how the brands that get no respect often impress me the most. I also have a realistic receiver I got for 10 bucks that has tuner section that blows my socks off.
Regardless, that is a nice looking receiver, I'd invest the 40 bones if I saw it at the local thrift store.

I had a JCX 2900K once. Okay pre-amp section, genuinely fantastic dual amp section. If you ever run across one of these, it's a keeper.
