Anyone know anything about the Lloyd's H545 Stereo Amp?

This is my first post and I hope I am doing this right.

I am looking for a relatively cheap amp to pair with my Technics SL-D2. A local pawn shop is selling a Lloyd's H545 Stereo Amp for $50 on kijiji. Does anyone know anything about it?

I am also just starting with vinyl and am looking for a cheap set of speakers (my budget is around $100), anyone got any recommendations?

I agree... Lloyds was not top - or even middle - shelf goods. With that said, the price is pretty reasonable for an integrated, and you could always upgrade later.

It's not easy to even get a phono preamp for $50 CAD. It looks pretty nice actually and I seem to recall some fairly good Lloyds gear way back that was I think only available in Canada.

As long as there is no damage to it and nothing blown inside it should do very well. Nice lot of power, 50 watts per channel, pretty low distortion, .04%, low noise, 80 dB phono, 90 db line.

Found yourself a receiver that should be fine for quite a while. Listen to it to see if there is any distortion or harshness to the output and if it sounds OK then you should be fine. Make sure to operate all the controls to see if there is noise in any of them and that they do what you expect them to do, based on the name of the control.

I would recommend always hooking up used gear you want to buy to make sure everything is working. If I had a nickel for every story I've heard (or experienced) where someone bought something that supposedly worked fine, got it home and found out it had problems, everyone would be asking me "Why do you have so many nickels?"
