Anyone know how to disable the pitch fader on an 1200-mk2?

I have a mk2 from 1979 that I've been fixing up that has a bit of a dodgy pitch fader. It doesn't solidly click when in the zero position and sometimes I have to wiggle it to get it to sit in the right spot. Since I'm not a DJ and only ever plan on listening to records at the proper speed I was wondering if anyone knew of a mod that could disable the pitch fader and just make it spin at the right speed.

I figure there's probably a way to install a jumper that disables the fader but I haven't found it by googling. I'd probably only bother doing this modification if it were reversible.

Thanks

You can remove and bypass it- unplug the connection of the pitch control wires/plugs and join the 2 center pins of the socket together.

I knew I remembered reading this somewhere before but couldn't remember it. Thanks!
