Anyone know the Perpetuum Ebner 3060?

Found this TT in a home built plinth at the recycle depot and brought it home for the Stanton 681 it was sporting. Looking at it while it waited for disposal convinced me it was probably a pretty decent unit so I had a closer look. Idler drive, 33-45-78 speeds, single play and multiplay spindles and headshell rake adjustment. Dual style tonearm with removable carrier in headshell and what feels like a 5 or 6 lb. platter. Very reminiscent of Dual in overall appearance, no surprise given the Dual/PE connection.

Needs an overhaul and a new plinth but I've convinced myself it's worth it. Am I right and does anyone know anything about these PE units?

PE is the lessor known changer. Their mechanisms seemed a bit more finicky than the others, i.e. Dual, Miracord/Elac, Garrard and BSR. However, they were no less robust and you got a good addition to your system if you get it going.

Thanks Brian.

The TT appears to be quite similar to the Dual 1219. Made from '70 to '72 and apparently sold for about 400 DM. Available with or without plinth though it appears without was the norm. That explains the beauty this one is currently in. I get a six pound difference in my weight on the bathroom scale when I hold the platter, but I wouldn't take that as gospel. I did find an original owners manual, but no listing of specs.

Here is what it looks like:

Thanks Brian.

The TT appears to be quite similar to the Dual 1219. (...)

...more to the 1218, I'd say. Some specs: 4,8 kg for the complete drive, 2 kg for the platter alone; wow & flutter +/- 0,08 % (DIN), rumble noise 43/59 dB (DIN);

Greetings from Munich!
