"I'm Listening"
A good friend is looking for a receiver (his BPC finally died). Told him he could choose one of my extras, Marantz 2220, Sansui 5500, QRX 3500, Kenwood integrated or my Marantz Model 22 (was hopin' he'd choose the QRX) well he picked my 2220. I cleaned and swaped the Model 22 for the 2220 (bedroom system) and really think it sounds BETTER than my beloved 2220, 2230,2240b and Sansui 890, I have been enjoying its deep rich sound for 2 days now and wonder why the old Model 22 gets very little press, it was kind of the ugly duckling of my collection, what are others thoughts on the Model 22??

I may be wrong, but aren't the earliest 2-digit pieces all made in the US? I'm talking receivers, here, I know all bets are off with separates.

Maybe it's just that rich US '60s sound you're hearing. :D
