Tweeters look somewhat interesting. Does anyone recognize them?

Look a lot like a standard CTS-type "phenolic ring" cone tweeter, with a fancy aluminum faceplate/grill on it. If that's the case, not bad. Not state-of-the-art in any way, but a decent tweeter.

A closer photo of the tweeter (where we can see if there are indeed two solder rivets visible just under the tweeter cone) would probably tell all...

Regards,
Gordon.

I bought'em.

They don't sound 1/2 bad for $20. I wish they were original, the woofers were replaced at some point with Radioshack ones - with one of them hooked up backwards... "howcome it sounds better with the balance all the way over...?" I found pieces of the old driver's foam inside the box. Pretty lame single cap x-over. The boxes are nice though, seem to be pretty well built. No manufacturer names at all. There used to be paper stapled to the back, and the plate with the hook ups only says made in usa. They've got some real neat spring loaded bearing lookin' deals to hold the grills on - too bad it didn't come with those.

I think the speakers are Kenwood's LS series and thoose look like the the Kenwood tweeters. According to the add I'm looking at the woofers were designed with a voice coil and cone assembly that would eliminate a crossover coil.
