Found this, “not working” at a garage sale. Paid $30. Simple motherboard battery replacement and some bios adjustments and it works great. Also I found a guy selling solid state drives with the full game menu available for this machine which is over 200 games. I’m about $250 in total invested. Super fun, especially certain games like Centipede with a trackball! Galaga is also a favorite. Great addition to a home theater environment. Very retro with CRT monitor, it’s the authentic 80’s experience like I remember it. I was 10 in 1980 and I never dared to dream I’d have games like this at home one day. That day has come.

When I was laid off from work I found another job at a facility where we made circuit boards for all of the popular games of that time. They had all of the best games in the break room we could play for free.

The best part of the job was there were only a couple of us guys working there, the rest were women.

I'd hop in a car with four or five gals and we'd drive down the road for a liquid lunch. Some of them could probably drink me under the table.

Fond memories.

Galaxian, Tempest, Asteroids, Galaga, Centipede were all great.

Tabletop was preferred, and 32 ounce fishbowls.

Yeah, I can appreciate newer games too. Played PC games for a while, got a few consoles over the last 20 years, but for simple quick fun the 80’s arcade games are tough to beat. Plus head to head is fun for guests young and old. It does make the home theater feel more like “the movies”.

Yes,All the vector graphics games were incredible for their time—Star Wars was another standout. They were so addictive that you could burn through countless quarters or tokens without even noticing.

Arcades were packed with players competing for high scores on iconic titles like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders.

That’s an awesome garage sale find! Getting it running with just a motherboard battery replacement and a few BIOS adjustments makes the $30 purchase even sweeter. Having over 200 games available is a huge bonus, too. Centipede with a trackball and Galaga on a CRT monitor must bring back some incredible memories. There’s something special about experiencing these games the way they were originally meant to be played. And for around $250 total, it sounds like you got a fantastic retro gaming setup. Nothing beats bringing a piece of the 1980s back to life and enjoying it at home!
