Anyone tried those House of Marley headphones?

I'm wondering if they're decent or along the lines of the Beats headphones, form over function?

They sound okay but I haven't delved too far into testing them out. Problem is that I can't get over how stupid looking they are. I think Tyll at Inner Fidelity tryed out a few of them and liked one.

Most of them do look rather stupid (like rasta skullcandy's to me), but I rather like the look of the exodus ones.

Over at head-fi, they seem to agree that they are like Skullcandy/Beats but for a different section of the market.

Oh my I have really restrained my self here.

Metals take a LOT of energy to recycle, especially if it is painted, this company is full of marketing BS, just like the other brands for people who don't actually listen to their headphones.

Edit: oh no I'm not done, their website is full of fancy graphics, especially good at making computers visiting their site consume a lot more power then they need to...

Not My style at all...All those stupid colors are weird.
(I like nice straight up Silver and Black headphones)
Looking at the specs, They probably sound similar to Skullcandys.
HEY MON!
LOL!

Recycling and environmental consciousness are just two marketing ploys that us in Americaland eat up because we want to pretend we're actually doing something about the environment when we really aren't.

Here's the link to the Innerfidelity write ups from their Celebrity Headphone Deathmatch http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/celebrity-headphone-deathmatch-house-marley

I guess that's why the call it 'earth friendly' they didn't dare to write environmentally friendly out of fear of a lawsuit.

If they really wanted to do it right, they should have used high tech composite materials, that can be manipulated at fairly low temperatures, and only needs basic cleaning before recycling, so no paint.

It's unbelievable how many lies companies get away with, and how little consumers seem to care.

But then I'm not too used to mad marketing, I don't watch commercials (I only watch public TV it's free of commercials), so whenever I'm reminded of how bad the world of marketing is, I get pretty annoyed, lies lies lies.

I'm ranting :boring:

I share your sentiment. I only ever turn on the TV downstairs to watch the BBC World News on our local public channel. It's the only thing on the house's cable plan worth watching.
