Anyone using a Mitchell record clamp?

I've got one of normal (non-Rega) models, which I currently use with my Technics SL-M3. I have been very happy with it.

I was recently having problems with my Michell clamp. I'd tighten down the knob as tight as I could, but it wouldn't grip the spindle well, and therefore wasn't clamping down the record. I took the collet apart to see if I could see what was wrong, didn't see anything, and put it back together. Now it is back to working well, as when I first bought it.

Just a quick tip if anyone else has the same problem.

Update- this was an older post of mine a while back.

I've have three setups, so I've gone with a pair of ADC clamps and a single Orsonic clamp.

Very pleased.

I was wondering if any of you use, or have tried the felt washer intended to be used with the Michell clamp?
