I would if I could! The auction had three bids already with the high bid of $10,000! I'm not kidding. I found it first thing this morning (that would be about 5:30AM EST).

But, it's now gone. :scratch2: I wonder why?

I saw it briefly too - but it was soon taken down. My first thought was that it was your old friend Henry Louis (aka jamaicangurl119 and a few more..) trying to beef up his feedback status with some phoney bidding accounts.

BA 3000 seems to be a favourite with him - I think he's collected lots of nice photos of that amp.

He's also taken up residence over at AudiogoN.

But maybe I'm wrong...

I waged several complaints against jamaicangurl119 on the last auction and got all the auctions booted. Person was shill bidding, stealing images from other people's auctions, offering second and 3rd chance offers not within the Bay's guidelines as well as using profanity in communication (once I busted the bum)...LOL

BTW, my ass was saved once about a year ago by a very kind eBay'er who emailed me (within seconds, it seemed) of my pulling the trigger on a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I totally ignored my own rules of bidding because I was so excited about the deal -- well, of course you're all saying "was it too good to be true?" :yes:

Please enlighten me on what you know about jamaicangurl119. First, I saved her ended items and, although nothing is listed for sale, she is still listed as a member, rather than having the "no longer a registered member" indication that I am used to seeing when HL gets caught. Also, 2 items sold, a BA 3000 and a CA 3000. One of the buyers only had 5 transactions and may be a shill, but the other is gonefishing911. I don't know him but I've seen him bid on many Sansui items that I have followed, and he appears to have a good rating as a buyer and seller. He won the BA 3000 auction for $545, a great price of course, but he has left no feedback, either positive or negative. Do you have any inside info? Thanks.

There were actually 3 buyers in the recent jamaicangurl119 "sales"

There was a fake buy with good feedback somehow attributed to a large feedback bidder - possibly via a hijacked account.

The "shill" you refer to was an actual buy - they're still trying to get their money back. During an auction it's impossible to notify any bidders when they're listed as "Bidder 1" "Bidder 2" etc but immedialtely afterwards I notified the 2 buyers - one had not paid and was able to walk away but the other will unfortunately have to get the cash back via PayPal or the Credit Card company. Both of these methods seem to work OK - or at least it did for me in the one time I was a green victim - some Puerto Rican RAM years ago (should've known better).

Pays to watch out for this guy. I let him know he's being watched whenever I see his "work". As you may know he's very abusive and threatening in return.

ebay scams

I think we should go after them. Folks trying to get a start in vintage audio, and doing their homework, choosing Sansui, then getting robbed, that's just wrong.
