AR 11 with new factory woofers?

They're supposed to be decent, and direct drop in replacements, but not as good as original AR 12" woofers. Most feel the suspension and spider is too stiff, and the woofers don't respond as deep as the original woofers. Still, they're better than not having the speakers up and running (faint praise, I know). But, they're new. Though, somewhat expensive. Personally, I'd buy originals from eBay, or wait for a pair of AR speakers, using the same woofers (AR10, AR11, AR9, AR58. AR91, AR915, AR78), to show up on CL. I'm sure they'd be much cheaper than the Simply Speaker woofers.

Over the years, Parts Express has carried various AR overstocks, new old stock, and discontinued speakers. You might call their tech department and ask what they have on hand that might work for you.

(And almost $200 for a replacement from SS? Really?)
