AR 2A Value?

Thoughts on value on a pair of AR-2A speakers? Cabinets are very rough, grills are gone (and the masonite under one grill is gone as well). On the plus side, all drivers appear to work, and the AR and "a" badges are there (although the pins under a couple of them are disconnected).

A pair of AR-2A sold for $406 on that auction site about a week ago. Is that price an anomaly?

There was a pair on Canuck Audio Mart for $300 in January. Listing shows as Off. So not sure if they sold. Cosmetically they sound pretty bad from your description. Are you a buyer or seller? If I was buying them I wouldn't pay more than $100, maybe less. That's just me though.

Of all audio gear, the best deals I have found are on quality speakers. If you are patient, your cash can go along way. :scratch2:
 
$406 and $300 is ridiculous. In the condition that you have described them they are worth around $50~75. In great condition they usually top out at around $150 or so, and that's if everything is working and the cabs are good. If they have been converted to 2ax with the factory kit then maybe a little more, but again that's if everything is working and they are for sale on local Craigslist.
