I'm not too sure about the sx designation but if they are close enough to the AR94 they will need to be refoamed if they have not been already.Not a bad speaker that benefits from power.

SX (same as Si) means solid wood top caps and both woofers are the same part number. Crossover is slightly simpler and mounted on PCB instead of masonite. The SU used different top and bottom drivers and vinyl covered top caps.

Both sound very good and are under-rated especially for this money.

Yes, the mid on the AR90/AR9LS/AR9LSi is the same as the bottom woofers used on the AR94SU, IIRC.

On the left is an AR94SX/Si, on the right is an AR94SU
You should be able to zoom in to see part numbers.
