AR the turntable tone arm lifter question

you will need to remove the lift from the arm. After getting the top off the lift piece, there will be a small diameter coil spring that rides on top of the piston. It shouldn't go sploinging anywhere. pull the piston out of the bore, clean both pieces as mentioned before. The "oil" you need to recharge it with is 300,000CST silicone oil. It can be found in small bottles at hobby stores. Normally sold as differential oil for radio controlled race cars.

Thanks again marcmorin. I have the "standard" arm that came with the turntable. I will give your suggestion a try.

Fixed headshell, round pivot boss? Side grubscrew holding the headshell on, round pivot boss? lower cinch bolt holding the headshell on, oval pivot boss?

The headshell is removable, and it is held on by a plastic screw/bolt on the inside of the tonearm.
 
I am getting real frustrated. I went back and followed the instructions for leveling the arm, adjusting the weight and bias, and my needle still doesn't touch the record. What am I doing wrong, or not doing properly?

sounds like the arm is still sitting on the lift bar. If the cue device is operating like it should, the whole device needs to be lowered in its mounting.
