AR-XA: How far can you "push" it?

I could buy the basic guts of a 2nd table for dirt cheap and slowly build / upgrade for as long as it takes, all the while still enjoying my current XA. Eventually I'd have two. Huzzah for two ARs!

Once you start tweaking it, its hard to stop.

Just don't do anything you can't undo and you'll be fine. If you become unhappy with the change just swap back.

A few months ago on a whim I picked up a spare T Bar / Springs and top plate from eBay for $10. Figured if I ever did want to try a different tonearm, I could use that stuff to modify and still have the old parts if I wanted to go back to its stock form.

Where would one get the RCA and AC plugs to upgrade an AR XA?

Once you start it's hard to stop,luckily I have some good connections and do a lot of tables rebuilds. This one has the newest Merrill motor, poly pulley, older modded Merrill subchassis, Linn springs, Marc's perches, Carbon fiber arm, Stainless steal spindle and ball bearing, lead lined platter and probably a few other things I can't remember. Does it sound better than my stock AR, of course, but how much, enough to make it worth the effort.
