AR XA platter balanced with lead weight?

Hello, I noticed a lead weight glued to the inside of the outer platter on my XA and promptly removed it but since noticed a slight vertical movement in the tonearm pillar as the platter rotated. Replacing the lead weight has as far as I can tell fixed the movement.
Anyone else have this weight on the platter?

Yes, that's how they balanced the platter at the factory, it's supposed to be there.

Thanks chaps, I just also found out as I have just had a delivery of 2 AR XA Us Both have the weight glued on the platter.
I love these things!
