AR XA - Repair Service

My father in law just gave me his old AR XA. It’s not in working order, but all of the component parts are there. Looks like it needs at least a new belt and tone arm, at least.

I would love to get this thing Marc Morinized (RIP). But I don’t know the first thing about turntable repair, and I don’t have the time to learn. So I’d prefer to send this to someone who actually knows what they’re doing.

Does anyone know of any reputable vendors who can repair an old AR XA to Mr. Morin’s specifications?

There are several other people who seem to have good reputations for working on ARs. Dave Archimbauld (sp?) at Audio Nirvana pops into my mind, but he's not the only one.
It sounds like you are being sent a list of people who follow Marc McMorin's ideas, but Marc was not the only one getting great results - the thing about the AR is that the basics are so good, and so adaptable, that a variety of approaches (including restoring to the original specs) can result in excellent sound. Don't assume that you can't do the work yourself, though not everyone wants to do such things, and some people really aren't very good at it, and should probably not try.
 
You said it has all the components but needs a new tonearm which seems a bit contradictory. Did you mean it needs a cartridge?
 
Yes, the tonearms are very simple, yet very effective at extracting music. Does the motor run and is it a single or dual motor model?
 
Montycat and WaynerN's questions are definitely helpful.
Number of things to consider, including the T-bar chassis. Is it the cast or stamped aluminum version?
 
The nice thing about how Marc went about restoring AR tables(especially the XA) was that all of his updates were under the hood, so to speak. So if somebody appreciates the beauty of an XA and wants all the benefits of well thought out restoration (Marc had an engineering background)), while keeping the cosmetic uniqueness intact, Marc's updates are the way to go. And luckily, prior to his untimely death, Marc passed on his knowledge to Hose53 and (I believe) Nashou66 who can provide step by step assistance in bringing these fine tables back to life.
