Getting ready to start an easy restoration of my earlier AR2ax speakers (serial #'s in the 12,000 and 18,000 range).
Don't want to damage my grills or badges because they are all in excellent condition.
Before I start removing the staples then carefully pulling the grills off while breaking the glue between the grill and baffle I wanted to ask about these badges.
Are these badges glued to the grill, screwed to the grill or screwed through the grill into the cabinet baffle?
thank you
Planning on replacing caps, potentiometers, resealing the cloth woofer surrounds, resealing the woofer basket to the baffles and a fresh coat of oil to the almost blemish free cabinets.
Hoping they will sound and look like new when finished.
thank you

The badges are screwed in. This way they can be rotated if the speakers sit horizontal. They should be removed before removing the grills as they screw into the baffle a bit.
Before buying the surround sealer, test the woofers by gently pushing the cones inward. Let go. If they return slowly to neutral, they are sealed, if they return instantly, then a reseal is in order.

Exactly what I needed to know and even some bonus info that's very useful.
Thank you very much!
