AR4X Woofer

I recently obtained a pair of there from auction, OK shape on the outside bit couldn't inspect the drivers because someone had glued the grills on(I would have pried them off but the auction houses generally frown on that sort of thing). When I got them home, got the grills off an found that one of the woofers was replaced with a full range RS driver. Kind of pissed me off. I am currently fixing them up - refinishing cabs, cleaned the pots, etc, but I'm not sure what to do about the woofer. I found a possible replacement on EBay, but it is the older version(I believe) The one with the larger magnet, 8 mounting hols and no ribs. Don't know if I should go with this or wait for one with the smaller magnet, 4 holes, ribbed - to come along. Don't know how often these come up for sale(as a single)- could be a while. Or for what I would pay I could go for some non AR replacement woofer, Any thoughts?

...3 different versions and they all sounded the same to my ear...
I think this is correct. Despite several differences found in woofers from the 4x, they were all intended to have identical performance in this speaker. There were more than one type each of: magnets, cones, baskets - - but for all intents and purposes, they are interchangeable. With most of my projects, I do like things to look identical, too, so I'd probably end up looking for a match. With a little patience, you'll find one - - - they are readily available. Two versions shown below.
