Aragon 24k basic tune-up (plus?)

"Less Is More" took me 20 years to figure that out. Also...

Do not Assume because then you make an ASS out of U and ME...

Another hard lesson.

I first remember hearing that one in the movie The Bad News Bears. Good ol' Walter Matthau. (You might be too young for that reference) :)

Good morning,
So I was able to make some time yesterday to finally get started on this project. I'm starting with the IPS as that is simpler and is a good place to refresh my meager skills. As I progress to the main chassis, I am wondering if there are any tips that would help me to be more efficient? Is there anything that I should consider, or be aware of, when removing the board? Thanks!

I would remove the leads from the RCA connectors to get the board out.

The board foil is Very fragile, Like I said "I should have cut cap leads and soldered to them".

When I design PC boards I use over size pads, Over size component holes and thicker traces to accommdate HiFi parts and repairs.

Thanks for the tip. Did you damage your board and did you only replace the film caps?
I got the IPS recapped today. Desoldering was a challenge! I don't have a Variac, so I will hope for the best when I give it a test.

You might get a kick out of this if you haven't already read it:
