Arcam Alpha 3 Tuner - Won’t power on

Hello.

I recently purchased an Arcam Alpha 3 tuner. It was not powering on arrival so got a refund, but can’t bring myself to get rid of it!

When plugged in the power button does nothing, no lights or anything. I’ve checked the plug fuse and internal fuse, both fine. I checked the power switch is working with a multimeter and all good. I did notice the supercap (0.1F) has popped but understand that’s just to store channel presets.

Any other ideas on checks or what could be the issue please?

With the power button in the "on" position. Measure the resistance across the two AC plug prongs. To check the power transformer primary winding.

Did you use your multimeter?

Does the back panel indicate what voltage the unit is configured for? 120V ,220V ,?

Thanks so much Avionic for all the advice. Yea I checked the fuses with a multimeter. I’ll check mains plug resistance with the power button on / off and the mains voltage setting, but expect 240v as it’s a UK model.
