Are all Yamaha YPOA Mics Compatible?

Hello All.

So I have a Yamaha RX-V385 and RX-V479 which I bought used. Neither came with the calibration mic.
I did some digging and you can get replacement mics on Amazon, but the ads say "specifically for" certain models, which don't include mine.

So my question is are the mics pretty well the same deal? Would any YPOA Mic from Yamaha work with my two amps?

not sure but I used a Yamaha mic on my Pioneer and it worked fine, so maybe it might do the same. Possibly the only difference may be the jack size. :dunno:

FWIW, All those "Class 3" measurement mics have considerable deviations in their inherent frequency response, which when their included with the receiver for room/speakers combination tuning (voicing), the receiver`s factory adjusted firmware has the original to the receiver included measurement microphones deviation from flat adjusted out (compensated) for that particular OEM original microphone..

So purchasing another microphone for that receiver with it`s highly unlikely same frequency response as the receiver`s original included one that the receiver`s firmware was matched to is going to be a "throw of the dice", on the ultimate sound results when attempting to run the receiver`s room/speaker calibration routine !

I would like to buy my budding audiophile friend`s purchased without prior consulting with me, a used from eBay several yrs. back, but in excellent condition and duplicate to mine Integra brand A/V/P for a backup, but he didn`t know or ask, about only choosing the purchase of that A/V/P should dictate that the measurement microphone, if included, should be the "ORIGINAL included to that specific A/V/P", as running the calibration tuning program results will never be as correct as it would properly be with the OEM included measurement mic, which is very important to me !

So even though his offered to me price (below his cost !) was very attractive, I advised him the reason for my lack of interest.

Good sonic results luck with any "throw of the dice" results with this type situation !
