Are cassettes like a drug?

I have reassembled part of my 80's hair metal cassette collection. I love finding that stuff. I see Dokken was included in your score Wolfe. Rock on!

So I listened to some Trixter last night...........sounds like a more rocked up version of Bon Jovi to me and I am not really a Bon Jovi fan so I think I've heard enough :thumbsdn:

Does it get unwound out the car window????????????

Na, it can stay in with the others. :D

For the past month or so my local Goodwill has cassette's 4 for $1 and I've been buying like crazy.

Yesterday I bought 8 of them for $2.

Keep 'em rewound, don't leave them in your hot car, treat them the way you would like to be treated, and you'll get a return.

I have over a thousand. I don't play them anymore (44,000 files, HD radio, 250 LP's) but I'm sure I will someday. They're neatly stored and alphabetized in my spares closet, in racks mounted on the walls.

I know there's some live Dead I don't have on file on those tapes... :music:

I was looking for gear in the Thrift and found this mint Sherwood. Like all the stuff I buy it was calling "Get me outta here!" I love that player! Auto reverse, all the bells and whistles, Sweet. All the pre-recorded tapes I find are at garage sales for 25 cents. Some never played, some sound like ass, others sound great. I find my self listening to music I would of never wanted to spend the money on. In the past, I missed out on some good tunes.

Storing all my flac files on the computer, making mix tapes on my reel-to-reel and cassette has become really, really fun!

See around here they have a lot as well but little I want. I mean most of it is crap like Micheal bolton, Inspirational Yodeling, or some religious music. THRRRRROW UP! So I pick up decent stuff or blanks when I can. Even found some Maxell XLII-S blanks :D

zebulon1 - It is probably better to discover it now. If you had it in the past, you might already be burned out of it.

Trixter - That has GOT to be the biggest poser metal band on planet Earth. The best thing to do with that tape is use it as a urinal puck. Instead of chrome. metal, or ferrichrome, they used actual feces to make those tapes.
Despite my taste in music becoming really soft these days (mostly) I still hate poser metal bands

i am just getting back into cassettes (see thread "rediscovering the cassette" and have quickly become obsessed with buying cheap tapes ! car boot sales and ebay are getting some hammer.

A little addiciting

But i feel some times i don't have enough blank cassettes. :music:

Jvc

About as good as the RCA cassette line. Recording on a HX-PRO cassette decks they record fairly nice. The oldest sealed cassette blanks I have is a TDK 4 pack dated 1974 I found at a local thrift store. Today went back to another thrift store and found 5 TDK "CD Power" 110 cassettes. And they are high bias too.:music:

I never knew JVC had a line of blanks. How good do those sound?
