Are Omega Loudspeakers suited for electronic music?

hey all! I'm on the look for a pair of speakers, primarily to be used for listening to music, mainly vinyl. The room I'm planning to use them in, is 20 square meter. Due to the nature of the building and neighbors I cant and I'm not planning to be blasting them. Also ideally without a sub. Budget around 1000 euros.

After a lot of search in forums I came across the Omega loudspeakers. I've been reading mostly very good reviews about them and given the price I'm really considering them. However, the people using them seem to be more into jazz, rock and classical genres.
I'm listening primarily to electronic music, minimal house, techno etc so I was wondering if anybody has used the omegas for electronic music and how well they handle the genre (without a sub)?

This is the particular model I'm after Super 7 Monitor MK2

p.s. I'm a newbie when it comes to sound and all the technical details around so any other suggestions/advice are more than welcome

dimos, welcome to AK.

I think you might need more bass re-enforcement for electronic music so a full range single driver without a sub might not be your best choice. Acoustic jazz works well for full range single drivers because so much of the content is within the midrange and Omegas are known for their exceptional midrange.
 
hey Poultrygeist thanks for the info! I have couple more questions, if you don't mind shedding some more light on this.

I was looking at their DeepHemp 8 Subwoofer. I'm guessing pairing the speakers with that sub should work fine then, for electronic music?
Also, the DeepHemp 8 Subwoofer seems to have a built-in amp, if I'm not mistaken. Can that built-in amp, be used for the speakers as well or would I need a separate amp for the speakers?
 
With powered subwoofers the amplifier is for the sub only.

What's your budget for a subwoofer.

Bear in mind that with subwoofers "bigger is better" is a truth. 8" subwoofers are about as small as you can go and still call it a subwoofer.

Louis Chochos designs and sells some great speakers. If his sub is like the rest of his offerings you're in for a treat. Quality trumps size.
 
thanks for the info guys! @JoeESP9 another grand for the sub, max. As for the size yeah I know what you mean but due to my living situation, neighbors etc an 8" would be sufficient
 
I have a pair of M-5s(older model) - Surprisingly good bass for the size, found the highs to be lacking though, such as it is with full range.

The strength of full range single drivers is in the mid and highs. Bass can be an after thought unless you go BIB.

Maybe the mids, but I've listened to many full range speakers and I've always found the highs to be lacking, but that's just me. The M-5s do have really good bass considering they are only 5" drivers. Kudos to the box designer

My Lowther full range single drivers have an FR of 30 to 22,000 hz but not many of us can hear above 20,000 hz.

I have two 8" powered subs. One is for the center channel in my main system. The other is for my bedroom system.
