OK, so the female members we know post here are digtubeess, Meower and JJCharles.

The male members we know who post here are, everyone besides the three female members listed above.
Humm, we have a long way until we can even the field at AK out, we probably need somewhere near 500 posting female members to be even.

My calculation for the odds of that happening, taking into consideration that 1/2 of the posting males will make asses of themselves, the females do not care for the hormones being thrown around now and again, and the fact that some people just cannot wrap their heads around the fact some women do like audio gear.
The probability of getting 497 more female members that post is 1/10,000,000,000, give or take a few hundred thousand.

Last night I had the pleasure of spending a while talking with some pretty girls who were filming an ad. When one of them asked what my interests/hobbies were, I mentioned that I liked to hunt down, refurbish and collect vintage audio.

She said something like "Oh, that's a guy thing. What is it with all you guys? We (she generalized from herself to all women) can hear that some stuff is nicer than others, but what's the point? Beyond a certain point we just don't hear the differences. Is the really high-end stuff really much better than a regular stereo? We just don't hear the difference. Also can't see the appeal in it; if the music sounds okay, that is good enough." I think my wife would have agreed with her 100%.

Maybe it isn't just an evolutionary genetic survival thing...maybe they (women) really don't HEAR the same things we (guys) do? The girl last night seemed to be saying that. Maybe the extra testosterone affects what parts of the sound we focus on? I'm very happy being a guy and wouldn't want to swap (no gender confusion here!), nor would I want to deprive myself of the pleasure of enjoying audio stuff, but I wish I could listen to music for a few minutes through a woman's ears, to experience how they DO hear.
