Argos? I think they are British and the only thread I could find suggests that they were a cabinet fabricator, but the drivers shown below have the "Argos" logo on the magnet. Other examples I've googled have Jensen drivers installed.

These are probably PA, judging by the wall mount cabinets, but the driver frames say "HiFi" to me.

I think your "Argos" drivers are whatever they might be with Argos stickers on 'em.
Argos did indeed make cabinets and also sold whole speaker systems (which tended to have Jensen drivers in 'em). Nothin' special in either case, by and large.
Not British. There is/was a British "superstore" called Argos, though.
